Coombers of Milton Regis
Welcome to the Coombers of Milton Regis website.
This website is intended to help people who are researching their family history or for anybody with a general interest. The information you will find within this website is what I've found in my research for my Coomber family history; everything you see has been either verified by official records or by their living relatives, who all deserve a big, big thank you. Please contact me if you have any questions, find a discrepancy or if you can fill in any missing detail.
The name Coomber has been connected to the area of Milton Regis for almost 200 years. Many people from the area will have heard of the infamous character known as Pickle of Kent, of whom most Milton Regis descendants came from. Today there are but a few Coombers living in Milton Regis but there are many descendants of the original Coombers from the early 1800's still living and working there. |

A Happy Ending Amelia Lester and Glenna Stone(nee Coomber) last saw each other in June 1944 when they were both 11 years old. Amelia always thought about Glenna on her birthday and wondered if she would see her again. Not knowing her married name made Glenna impossible to find until in frustration she typed Glenna Coomber into a search engine and came across this website. An email and a phone call later they were back in touch after 63 years. |
